5…4…3…2…1 HAPPY NEW YEAR! I love the New Year! Every year I make resolutions, celebrate with the ball drop, have a big brunch with family on New Year’s Day. I know to some people January 1st is just another day on the calendar but for me it’s a fun way to mark all I’ve done in a year and look forward to the year ahead.
I would love to celebrate New Year’s Eve with my kids but I am NOT interested in keeping preschoolers up until midnight. So, like many of you I am planning a Noon Year’s Eve this year for my kids and some friends.
This way they can celebrate the holiday, learn about the New Year, think about “resolutions” of their own, and enjoy the party with their family.

I wanted to share with you some of what I have planned for the kids and I hope this gives you inspiration for your own family celebration.
First, a balloon drop. There is no chance in this world you will see confetti in my house so I opted for these confetti filled balloons. I’ve used these for birthday parties before so I know my kids love them. I’m planning on putting the balloons inside a fitted sheet and dropping them from my stairwell. If you don’t have a stairwell that would work, tape them up inside a paper disposable tablecloth against your wall.
Kids think any small change is so fun so when they come to the party and see fun disco lights – it will probably blow their minds! This little machine is super affordable and so fun!
Do you remember seeing the “2000” millennium glasses for the first time? I was a kid and I was OBSESSED. I still get a kick out of novelty glasses.
The New Year’s Eve party will be my inaugural use of this chocolate fountain. I am excited and I think the kid’s will go nuts with excitement! One pro tip – never use this outside. Even a light wind will send the chocolate everywhere.
Kids Mocktail and Disco Ball Cup
My kids love to order Shirley Temples on vacation and so I’ll be making them for the party as a signature mocktail. Served in this insane disco ball cup, of course. I’m just thrilled I found a fun cup with a lid.
Lastly, what’s a kids party without glow sticks? This is a great pack that I already own and they can have so much fun making tons of bracelets. It’s a great price!
The best part of a Noon Year’s Eve Party is that it will be over by 8pm and I’ll be in bed by 10pm. I am a parent, after all!
I wish you a wonderful New Year’s Eve! May your day be whatever you want it to be – low key, family filled, or a festive evening! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you in 2024!
