Baby’s First Christmas! What a special time for your family! Welcoming a new baby this year and getting to celebrate their first Christmas with the family! In my family, my adult siblings and I still love looking at our “First Christmas” ornaments at our parent’s house. So when it came time to commemorate the first Christmases of my own children, I may have gone overboard.
But – it’s only their first Christmas once, right?!
Below are five ideas for special keepsake ornaments to get your little on this year. And yes, I own all of these.

First, the silver baby bootie shoe ornament from Pottery Barn or this personalized one. This is a must-have for my children. I have one just like it from my own childhood and it was very important to me to give my children something similar. It is silver-plated and really shines on your tree!
If you prefer something in Irish Crystal to commemorate your baby’s first Christmas check out the Waterford Baby Bootie Shoe. It is solid glass with significant weight and has “2023” engraved on the toe. I love mine and it is very special to me. My child is four and this is the first year I’ve actually taken it out of the box because I don’t want her to break it!
Lenox has an adorable collection of personable and unique baby ornaments. My personal favorite is the Rudolph Rocking Horse. It’s a keepsake ornament, fits the Christmas theme perfectly, and I love imagining Rudolph as a Rocking Horse.
Baby Photo Ornaments are also a great way to commemorate your baby’s first Christmas. I personally love the Elf and Snowman versions of these felt ornaments. I especially love them now as a parent of toddlers – they can play with their ornaments as much as they want without risk of breaking.
Lastly, my most cherished baby keepsake ornament is their handprint ornament! I got this exact kit to create the ornament and the clay dries really nice and hard. It’s easy to do and a great way to commemorate your baby’s size on their first Christmas.
